James Miller

James MillerDirector of Exercise Physiology & Personal Training / Nutritionist

James Initially began his schooling in Exercise and Health Science back in 2001 when he started a double degree in Human Movement and Secondary Teaching at Deakin University.

After a stint of playing Cricket in England James returned to Deakin to continue his study in a field that he has always had a great passion for … FOOD. James completed his Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition/Food Science in 2006 where he then picked up a graduate position at multinational company Kraft Foods.

Lite n’ Easy was the next step in James’ career as a Nutritionist/Food Scientist and after a short stint working in large scale weight loss programs James decided to continue his studies to incorporate his two great passions together, Food & Exercise. James completed his Certificate III & IV in fitness and began Personal Training in conjunction with his Nutrition Consultations in 2008. Due to a sporting career beset by major injury (knee & shoulder reconstructive surgery along with persistent fast bowlers back and groin & abdominal pain) James began specialising in return from injury training and sports specific performance training. This led him to fully sinking his teeth into his studies and completing his Masters degree in Exercise Rehabilitation from Victoria University in 2011 whilst gathering a multitude of experience working alongside the Exercise Physiologists & Physiotherapists at The Sports Injury Clinic.

James loves working with all clients, no matter what their goals or barriers to performance, and believes that exercise is a key component to overall health and wellbeing. James has also worked with Elite Sportspeople as a Nutritionist for the successful national championship Vic Spirit Women’s cricket team in 2010. James has been close to the Frankston sporting community  for many years with over 15 years service to the Frankston Peninsula Cricket Club including life membership and has also been recognised as part of Victorian Premier Cricket’s elite players, having been selected 3 times in their Team Of The Season. James made a successful move from FPCC to Prahran cricket club for the 2013/2014 season, culminating in him being inducted into the Premier Cricket Team Of The Season for the 4th time as well as being awarded the Jack Ryder Medal as the competitions outstanding player.

Outside of Cricket and work James loves watching Soccer (Football), listening to and seeing live music and spending time with his family, his wife Lynda also works at the clinic as a Physiotherapist and his two children Ethan & Ayla can often be seen toddling around the the EP studio and clinic corridors.
