Service Overview

It is important to seek a specialist when getting a pregnancy massage.

Special massage beds and pillows, referred to as bolsters,  are used to help safely position the pregnant belly and to keep the expectant mother cozy and snug.

As the pregnancy progresses the body’s size and shape, a Remedial Massage (another term for pregnancy massage) is a fantastic tool to help keep the soon to be mom comfortable during pregnancy. Massage during pregnancy can assist to:

  • Relieve swelling and edema
  • Stimulate circulation throughout the body
  • Relieve and reduce leg cramps
  • Reduce / calm anxiety
  • Promote more restful sleep and reduce pregnancy related insomnia
  • Relieve back, hip, pelvis and leg pain and stiffness

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage is viable during any period of the pregnancy, but it is good to note that most therapists would advise to wait until the second trimester. This concern is mainly due to the increased blood flow resulting from the massage which could cause fetal trauma during the first trimester of the pregnancy.

The massage session is done with the assistance of a support pillow and pregnant-specific beds for the duration of the treatments, so expectant mothers can lie comfortably and safely on their front throughout every stage of their massage.
