What does it mean when someone says "Flushing toxins out of the body"? Nobody has poisoned you!! …Well sort of...

If somebody uses this term they are generally referring to your Lymphatic system's ability to drain unwanted chemicals from your body. "Toxins" in this context, fall under a pretty broad umbrella.  Toxins are unneeded chemicals in your body such as pesticides & preservatives from the food we eat, water we drink with the likes of chlorine and ammonia etc. They are even present in the air we breath. (Unless you live on a mountain somewhere in an under-populated part of Venezuela.) Not to mention the chemicals in the booze and cakes that generally accompany Xmas and the Silly season.

These are just minute examples.

1. Your body will also drain unwanted matter produced internally, for example, the residual bio-chemicals remaining around recent injury that hasn't made it through your lymphatic system for cleaning. Or a lactic acid build up after a big run or workout.

2. One of the best ways to relieve yourself of the above is to manually disrupt and redistribute these toxins through massage.

3. Massage will greatly contribute to not only the assistance of toxin movement but replacing those parts of your body, now there's room, to flood with healthy, newly oxidized, nutrient rich blood.

If you're feeling sluggish and not really at your peak, this may very well be the reason. Put some pep back in your step and get yourself a well deserved massage.
