Telehealth At TSIC

BOOK NOW

Despite the recent challenging times of COVID-19, we can assure you that we are still booking consultations and that we are taking the highest level of care to ensure your health. Following government advise, it is confirmed that ALL allied health businesses can remain open and are encouraged to do so.

Although we are still taking regular clinic bookings for Physiotherapy, if you do not wish to visit the clinic and minimise contact in any way, we are now offering Telehealth appointments. What is Telehealth? Telehealth uses digital technology that gives you access to online Physiotherapy consultations and Pilates or Exercise Physiology sessions via video link. We come to you through your phone, tablet or computer in real-time. Proven to be as effective as in-person treatment, consultations are done by our own practitioners who are trained to deliver safe Telehealth consultations.

Since our approach at TSIC is to manage injuries pro-actively through assessing your movement and prescribing exercises specifically designed for you, Telehealth enables us to continue this support, improving the way you move, while reducing pain and improving function.

Telehealth & Physiotherapy (along with other allied health services):

  • Our detailed questioning helps us establish your diagnosis
  • We guide you to perform physical tests to confirm our diagnosis and recognize your needs via video link
  • We will prescribe the appropriate exercises and self-management techniques to effectively address your dysfunction leaving you pain free and moving well
  • All exercises sent through to you with both videos and photos, as well as detailed instructions to guarantee you can complete them effectively at home
  • Standard and extended consultations available to suit your needs

FAQ'S

1. I’ll just wait until things settle down and start back with sessions then.

  • There is potential for this lockdown to be in place for weeks, possibly even months, and we believe staying fit and active is going to be a key strategy in navigating these exceptional times. For this reason, we are advising our clients to continue with their sessions because some form of therapy is going to be better than no therapy.

2. Will my experience be the same?

  • Whilst this is a new way of us conducting our appointments, it’s great that we have the opportunity to adapt and we are more than confident that you will continue to get immense value from your appointments.

3. Do we have to use video? The thought of it makes me nervous.

  • In order for our Physiotherapist to ensure they are delivering the most effective treatment possible they will need to be able to see your movement patterns during the session. For this reason, we will need you to have your video on but promise that the therapist will do everything they can to put you at ease. The platform we have chosen to use is compliant with the Privacy Act stipulations. The session will be completely secure and no data from the session will be stored.

4. I’m a technophobe and won’t be able to get online.

  • The health and wellbeing of our clients is our number one priority at TSIC and the last thing we want is for technology to stand in the way of our clients accessing treatment. What we are doing for those concerned about the technology is making a time to talk you through entering a practice session over the phone so that everything is set up ready for your appointment. Once that’s done accessing your Telehealth session will be as easy as clicking on an email to join your virtual appointment with your therapist.

5. I don’t have time with the kids at home.

  • There is potential for this lockdown to be in place for weeks, possibly even months, and we believe staying fit and active is going to be a key strategy in navigating these exceptional times. For this reason, we are advising our clients to continue with their sessions because some form of therapy is going to be better than no therapy.
