Functional Restoration Programs
- It’s so simple to get you on track to full health and back to work and life
If you have been injured at work or injured in a motor vehicle accident you may be entitled to a range of compensation, to get you moving, regain strength, balance, back to pre injury health and stop injuries reoccurring, an Exercise Physiology program can help you.
- The first step is always to consult with your employer for workplace injuries or directly with the TAC for motor vehicle accidents and lodge the required paperwork for compensation*
- GP referrals are required to commence your Exercise Physiology program (work conditioning program/functional restoration program) - referrals are valid for 10 sessions or 3 months
- Contact The Sports Injury Clinic, (let us know you want an Exercise Physiology program) have your Workcover or TAC details handy, as we will need to confirm the treatment with your employer or insurance company prior to commencing a program
- We will then contact you to get you started with our EP team! It’s so simple to get you on track to full health.
When you come to your initial appointment, please bring your GP referral, any letters or reports from your doctor or specialist / X-rays, scans, or other tests relevant to your condition
The FRP starts with an initial assessment where your current level of functional ability or your capability to participate in activity will be determined, with you a plan is prepared on how to increase this or get you back to pre injury level, a report will be provided back to your GP, then ongoing supervised sessions with your EP
The costs of the treatment are directed to your employer or their insurance company, so there is no out of pocket expense for Ex/Phys Workcover clients at TSIC
*Initial compensation claims can take up to 28 days to process, keep in contact with your employer, their insurance company or TAC for updates on your claim.
It is the responsibility of the patient to ensure they are aware of the Workcover &/or TAV process, by contacting the Victorian Workcover Authority Advisory Service on 1800 136 089 (toll free) or (03) 9641 1444, or by visiting www.workcover.vic.gov.au or TAC on 1300 654 329 or by visiting www.tac.vic.gov.au
