realtime ultrasoundNow you can take advantage of the same technology that assists AFL footballers and elite dancers to perform at their peak. The Sports Injury Clinic is the industry leader on the Mornington Peninsula in the use of Real Time Ultrasound – a system that has revolutionalised the way we treat and manage spinal pain. Your “core muscles” particularly your abdominal muscles are fundamental to a healthy spine and back. If you suffer back pain with exercise or activity, chances are you’re not using those muscles correctly which places significant strain on your back. Medical research shows that our core muscles do not spontaneously recover from back pain episodes, resulting in progressive spinal weakness that can go unnoticed. The reoccurring issue of back pain, or ‘your back going out’, is most likely the result of poor muscular function and core strength. This coupled with degenerative spinal changes can become debilitating …and costly! Real Time Ultrasound - Shows you the correct contraction of your stomach (core) musculature
- Can be used to improve your spinal stability
- Individualises your pilates exercises as you can see how your muscles work on a screen.
Real Time Ultrasound can be used to identify core activation problems in any age group, including up and coming junior athletes, as well as those that want to be pro-active about their health. Your program will be monitored and assessed with real time ultra sound guaranteeing your exercise prescription is specific for the condition of your muscles. So whether your program includes Pilates, exercise or a combination of both you can be assured that you will be closely monitored at all times. For instance our Pilates groups have a maximum of only four participants; this means your instructor can closely supervise at all times ensuring you are performing movements correctly – no getting lost in large groups with no supervision and the real risk of injury. *All services claimable through selected private health funds |
