Brett completed his physiotherapy degree at the University of Melbourne in 2001 with honours. He has since gained extensive experience in the treatment and management of sports and musculoskeletal injuries.
Brett's experience includes 2 years overseas working for the British Forces, rehabilitating soldiers at the Ministry of Defence Centre for Rehabilitation, in London, as well as on military bases in Germany and Northern Ireland. Brett has previously worked and toured throughout Australia with various elite sporting teams. These include the Victorian Institute of Sport Cricket Team, the Victorian Under 19 and Under 17 Cricket Teams, and the Victorian Rugby Union State Team with which he was senior physiotherapist for 4 years - in charge of coordinating their strength, conditioning and rehabilitation programs. A keen sportsman himself, Brett has played cricket for the Victorian Bushrangers and currently plays for Frankston Peninsula Heat in the Victorian Premier Cricket Competition.
Brett's physiotherapy interests include fast bowling injuries in cricket, clinical Pilates and core stabilisation programs, throwing-related shoulder injuries, low back pain and lower limb sports injuries. Brett currently conducts cricket bowling assessments at The Sports Injury Clinic which includes physiotherapy screening and video analysis of bowling technique.
As a side project, Brett has also recently launched a new physiotherapy website called PhysioAdvisor.com. The website is a comprehensive resource for patients and provides detailed information on injuries, exercises, and other physiotherapy related health topics.
